Our Programs
At Elevate Gymnastics, every gymnast follows a clear, supportive pathway designed to help them grow in confidence, skill, and enjoyment. Whether your child is taking their very first steps into the sport or progressing toward advanced training, we offer programmes that meet them exactly where they are — and help them rise.
Our coaching is athlete‑centred, developmentally appropriate, and aligned with British Gymnastics standards, including the Rise Award Scheme, which celebrates progress at every stage.
Although rhythmic gymnastics is often seen as a female only sport, our programme is fully inclusive and open to all genders.
Choose the next step for your gymnast
Our programme is built around a staged pathway that supports gymnasts as they grow in confidence, skill, and readiness for more advanced training. Each stage is designed to meet gymnasts where they are, developmentally, physically, and emotionally, while giving them the space to progress at their own pace. Although many gymnasts move through these stages as they get older, progression is based on readiness and ability rather than age alone.

Safe progressions on hand apparatus and body skills

Building confidence, friendships, and a love of gymnastics

Classes are open to school-age children and are grouped by age and experience to ensure every gymnast receives the right level of coaching support. As gymnasts grow in skill and confidence, they may be invited to join our Advanced Performance pathway.
While training remains fun and recreational, gymnasts can take part in club events, camps, and friendly competitions.
Guided Growth Pathways
Rhythmic gymnastics offers different developmental benefits at each stage of childhood and adolescence, and the sport naturally attracts gymnasts at a wide range of ages—including many older beginners who join from dance, artistic gymnastics, acro, or other movement disciplines. This structure gives you a clear, parent‑friendly way to explain how rhythmic supports growth from early childhood through the teen years.
4-7 Years
This is a great age to start any sport but children participating in Rhythmic Gymnastics in this age group are developing coordination, balance, and body awareness at a rapid pace. Rhythmic Gymnastics supports this through playful, structured movement using Rhythmic apparatus, like hoops, ropes and balls.
Key benefits:
• Builds fundamental motor skills such as balance, jumping, turning, and catching
• Develops coordination between hands, eyes, and body
• Encourages creativity and musicality through expressive movement
• Strengthens flexibility and posture from an early age
• Builds confidence, listening skills, and the ability to follow routines
• Provides a positive introduction to structured physical activity
At this stage, Rhythmic Gymnastics feels like a blend of dance, play, and gymnastics, perfect for young children who love to move.
8-12 Years
This is a prime age for learning more complex skills. Children have greater focus, strength, and control, allowing them to progress quickly through apparatus handling and body technique.
Key benefits:
• Improves strength, flexibility, and endurance
• Develops more advanced apparatus skills (throws, catches, rolls, balances)
• Enhances musicality, expression, and performance quality
• Builds resilience, discipline, and goal-setting habits
• Encourages teamwork and social connection
• Supports healthy physical development during a key growth stage
Older beginners often join rhythmic at this age, especially those coming from, dance other gymnastics disciplines and cheerleading. These gymnasts typically progress quickly because they already have coordination, flexibility, or performance experience. Rhythmic becomes a natural extension of the movement skills they already enjoy.
Teens
Teen gymnasts benefit from increased physical maturity, emotional awareness, and the ability to train with purpose. Rhythmic offers a unique blend of athletic challenge and artistic expression that appeals strongly to this age group.
Key benefits:
• Builds advanced strength, flexibility, and technical precision
• Supports emotional expression and creativity through choreography
• Develops confidence, leadership, and independence
• Encourages healthy habits, discipline, and time management
• Provides a positive outlet during a period of rapid physical and emotional change
• Offers pathways for recreational enjoyment or competitive progression
Many teens join rhythmic for the first time, especially those transitioning from dance or artistic gymnastics. Their existing skills often transfer beautifully, allowing them to progress quickly and find a new passion within the sport of Rhythmic Gymnastics.
